In Prince George we are very proud to have Dr. Haneef Alibhai of MD Cosmetic & Laser Clinic and Dr. Michael Rickards from Flagstaff, Arizona affiliated with us. Dr. Michael Rickards also joins us in our Grande Prairie clinic.

These doctors travel to our locations once per month to perform a variety of cosmetic injectables. Cosmetic injectables have proven to be a great adjunct to other non-invasive cosmetic procedures.

Vanishings offers BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel (Filler) cosmetic injectables. We also offer BOTOX® Therapeutic Injections.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic (Botulinum Toxin Type A) has long been a trusted therapeutic choice for non-cosmetic use. For the past 10 years it has been used to treat ophthalmic disorders associated with muscle overactivity. It has also been approved to relieve a variety of conditions involving hyperactive muscles such as children with cerebral palsy.

In April 2001 BOTOX® Cosmetic was cleared for injectable applications in cosmetic procedures in Canada. BOTOX® Cosmetic can also be used therapeutically to help treat migraines and excess sweating.

Where can BOTOX® Cosmetic be injected?

The most common areas for the injection of BOTOX® Cosmetic are the frown lines between the eyebrows and on the forehead. 'Crows feet' can also be treated and most recently some very select patients can have BOTOX® Cosmetic injected on their upper lip to help relax the muscles that cause the lines around the lips.

JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel (Filler)

JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is a new injectable implant based on hyaluronic acid: it is designed to restore bulk to the curves of the face and to gently smooth wrinkles. JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel can be used to fill perioral lines around the lips, folds that can develop around the mouth and nose area and is great for lip augmentations.

JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel takes only moments to inject, the results are instant and can last up to 9 months. Redness and swelling can occur after injections of JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel. These side effects generally dissipate after 72 hours.
